The idea with EVTools software and services is to provide a faster, lower cost, and more maintainable approach to large archiving projects based on Enterprise Vault. EVTools does NOT replace Symantec Enterprise Vault but extend the reach of the product – examples are Legacy migration, better integration of hardware and backup or simplify managing PST Migrations.
For long-term customers we maximize the business benefits of existing Enterprise Vault installations by building additional solutions on the framework already in place.  Our modular add-ons make it easy to fulfill individual needs with off the shelf software, as well as we can use the Modules to solve individual customer requirements.Currently we support both current and future EV customers in the following areas

MIGRATIONS Your organization may have changed restructuring EV is necessary, want to “jump” from an earlier EV version (5,6,7) to the newest, you want to consolidate multiple sites into one all are challenges that can be solved by our Archive Shuttle product, combine with our extensive knowledge about all EV version.

PST ELIMINATIONS You still have PST files taking up space on storage and backup – but want to have a structured process with automatic migration, then our PST Migrator can help reduce the administrative work needed, and at the same time improve the user communication and overall quality of the PST Elimination. 

BACKUP SOLVED DIFFERENTLY The problem of backing up an Email Archive system is often overseen, and as the volume grows – the traditional task becomes impractical and too expensive. In CAS systems like EMC Centera this is solved with Asynchronous replication, with EV Nearsync this feature is available for other storage categories including NAS, DAS, SAN.

General Consideration

vcare Infosystems AG is one of the few Enterprise Vault development partners in Symantec's Technology Enabled Program (STEP). But more important we have more than 7 years of experience and were involved in more than 100 archiving projects. We develop our tools to be non-intrusive to Enterprise Vault, using the standard APIs provided. Our applications are designed to save time. Therefore we do not expect you to be a rocket scientist to successfully deploy and maintain our products.
